Glass

Your Mac, in any browser.

A remote desktop that feels local. About 20 ms from your Mac's screen to your iPad, with no app to install on the iPad.

$ curl -fsSL glassdesk.dev | sh

Run it on the Mac you want to control. A guided setup takes about two minutes. macOS 13+, free and open source.

  • 15–30 msscreen to iPad
  • 60 fpshardware encoded
  • MITfree and open source

Everything you reach for

Built like a game-streaming tool, not a video call, so there's no buffering between you and your Mac.

Truly low latency

Hardware H.264, WebTransport datagrams, no jitter buffer. A live latency meter shows the real number.

Just a browser

Open a link on your iPad. Add it to the Home Screen for a fullscreen app.

Every display

Switch between screens, or show them all side by side, arranged like your desk.

Full control

Trackpad, keyboard and touch. Unlock a locked Mac. ⌘Tab works with Ctrl as ⌘.

Sound

Mac system audio streams to whichever device you're on.

Clipboard and files

Copy here, paste there. Send files both ways, directly between your devices.

Private by default

Runs over your own Tailscale network. Your devices get in automatically; nothing else does.

Never stuck

Reconnects by itself after sleep, network changes or a suspended tab.

Three steps

Setup checks each step live and tells you exactly what to click.

  1. Install on your Mac

Paste the one-liner into Terminal. It verifies the download and starts setup.

  2. Follow the setup

Connect Tailscale, then allow Screen Recording and Accessibility. Glass runs quietly in the background.

  3. Scan and go

Scan the QR code with your iPad. That's it.

Tell us what you think

Bugs, ideas, what you'd use it for. It all goes straight to the people building Glass. You can also run glass feedback "…".
